Freeze Panes

With Freeze Panes you can make sure that title rows and important columns are always visible, no matter where you scroll. You find the freeze panes tool in the Window group under the View tab in the ribbon.

To freeze panes, do the following:

1. Select a cell where you want to freeze the columns to the left of the cell and the rows above the cell. (The cells you choose to freeze remain visible no matter where you scroll.)
2. Click Freeze Panes.
3. When you later want to unfreeze panes, you do exactly the same. But where there was a Freeze Panes button there is now an Unfreeze Panes button.

It often takes a few attempts the first time you use Freeze Panes before you understand exactly how it works and get it the way you want.
