Find and Replace

The Find and Replace tools are used to quickly correct errors or update a workbook. With these tools you can search for a value in a workbook and change it to another value. You can also search for and change formulas, or find and replace part of a formula or value.

Replace is used more often than Find. There are often alternatives to searching, but not to replacing.

If only one cell is selected when the Find or Replace tools are used, the search/replacement is performed in the whole worksheet. If several cells are selected, the search/replacement is performed only within the selection.
